busy beaver

i have discovered my love of being busy. and work...what?

the past two weeks have been insane. between work, the house, the apartment, the holidays/christmas shopping, and my typical drinking schedule, i have been a very busy beaver. so busy, in fact, that i have not had the time to watch TV or do all of the other lazyboy things i like to do.

but the fact is...being busy is great. i mean, i know how it is to be busy. yes, i do work. and yes, i am accountable for many deadlines and projects. but the work business is not what i am talking about. it's moving, unpacking, wanting to make your space look good. wanting this, wanting that...making a stop at lowe's 5 times in 4 days. that sort of thing. putting up blinds. getting pissed, because your big fat fingers just can not hang on to a damn screw!

you know what else keeps me busy? when things go wrong. for instance, we put up our tree last night (my original goal was last thursday. sorry, too busy.) and the lights were broken. i tested them in the wall, but when i got them on the tree, one strand was half off. so we decided to walk down to eckerd. we get in there and pick up 200 lights and realize that we have $4 and a $5 commerce gift card between us. oops. we give the guy the gift card, "what is dat? oh, gifff carrrr? you ain't gotsa touch no keys, lemme dowaaat." it doesn't work. "oh we don'eeeeeven take commerce."

ok...so we have $4 ($3 in bills and the rest change).

"you shoull geda hundret and a fitty."
the clerk turned out to be bright after all.

so that prolonged the tree trimming by about 35 minutes. great. i am too busy for that.

anyway. you get the picture. and i am sure you are just as busy. now get back to work!
